Through three weeks in the National Football League, the NFC East division standings are not as what was expected at the beginning of the year. Also, how those teams have fared when bettors have put money on or against them. The spread refers to a point line determined by sportsbooks and the trend throughout the week of people placing their bet. If a line is set at "6.5" in favor of one team, that team has to win by seven points or more to "cover the spread". The same goes for the team that's not favored except they just have to not lose by seven or more points. The over under is a line set the same why in total points of a game. If a team "hits the over" that means the total number of points scored in that game exceeded the line.
Washington’s starting quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, went down in week one with an injury and won’t come back for another couple of weeks. This has definitely made an impact on the state of bettors' opinion on Washington. Washington is 0-3 against the spread this year as a result. Very few bettors are putting money on Washington while Fitzpatrick is injured. An update on Fitzpatrick’s injury can be found here.
The New York Giants were the favorites to be last in the division and they have met that expectation. However, the bigger storyline for them is whether or not they choose to move on from their quarterback, Daniel Jones, after this season or not. He was drafted seventh overall in the 2019 draft and time is running out for him. Whether he or the rest of the team is the problem for their winless start is still to be determined even though the team has covered the spread one out of the three game of season.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been a complex mystery so far. After the last two abysmal seasons coupled with a 13-20 record against the spread in those seasons, the Eagles have come out this year with a 1-2 record. Each game they've played this season has been as an underdog according to TeamRankings.

The Dallas Cowboys have had a great season thus far in the real NFL and against the spread. They are 3-0 and have started to gain bettors trust as a result. They have been a tricky team over the years to predict coming off a season where they went 5-11 against the spread. This year it will definitely take time for bettors to put money on the Cowboys.
