Young Life puts its own twist on Survivor

The Christian ministry Young Life hosts an exciting finale of Survivor, a game that mimics the CBS reality show.
It was down to three. The freshman in the Young Life ministry have been competing in elimination challenges all semester. The final three contestants faced off in the final challenge on November 8th.
The contestants were put in a scavenger hunt. Each contestant was given a code to find the supplies needed to start a fire. A string was set over the fire trays, and whoever’s fire burned the string was the winner.
The race was very close throughout the scavenger hunt and the tension rose as each contestant started to build their fire. The crowd of Young Life members spurred on the contestants and brought even more energy to the challenge.
Keaton won the challenge, and could now choose who will be his opponent in the final round as the other contestant would be eliminated.
Keaton chose Sam as his opponent going into the final vote. The survivor competition in Young Life was down to two, and it all came down to a final vote.
After Sam and Keaton made their pitches to the jury, every former contestant voted on who they thought should be the winner. With some contestants not able to be there in person, they had to call in and send in their votes that way. It ended in a tie in votes even after the phone in votes. This means that each finalist had to do another round of fire making.
The rope was adjusted to make the challenge quicker. Keaton ended up the victor just edging out Sam and burning the rope in about 5 minutes.
After a month-long contest, Keaton was the winner and will get the honor to host next year’s survivor event. The second part of the live stream can be found here.
